Stuck? Go Forward!

How many of us ever got stuck? Even the word isn't fun - stuck.

In a vehicle, it is especially not fun. I had a dodge diplomat rear wheel drive when I first left school. It was a good car, but not good on bad roads. It would spin, fishtail and slide in the mud and snow. One time I was going around an icy curve and it went right into the ditch - stuck! I went back and forth in the ditch, not getting anywhere.

Not too long after that a truck stopped and a guy got out, from our church at that time. He was an auxiliary policeman and knew how to get 'unstuck' by backing the rear tires onto the road first (I was trying to use the front tires). The rear tires had the power to pull and up onto the road we went! I thanked him greatly (thank you Don!) and went on my way.

The Holy Spirit knows how to get us out. Sometimes you need a change in direction and strategy. Sometimes you just need to take a step. If you want a change, make a change!

When Israel was at the Red Sea and trapped because of the Egyptians behind them and the Red Sea in front of them, God said to them, "Why are you crying to Me........Go forward!" (Exodus 14:15) So Moses took what was in his hand, his staff, and stretched it out over the sea and God's power happened!! the sea parted and they walked over on dry land. Wow.

Don't just sit there and cry or moan or complain about what is happening or not happening in your life.

God is saying, "Go forward". Take what you have, even if it feels little, and step out of the normal, step out of what your reality has been.

Make a change, do something different even if it's a little thing. God will help you and you will see His power!

Steps to moving forward:

1. Make a decision to change something and say out loud,'I am not staying here stuck, I am moving forward!" Ask the Holy Spirit to help you, He's such a great Coach!

2. Point in the direction you want to go, dream, decide what you are heading towards.

Look at where you are stuck and point in the direction that leads out of it.

Always keep your values, decisions and plans based on the word of God.

Get promises from the Word of God about your situation and declare them out loud to yourself and what you are changing.

3. Make one change towards that direction. What's one thing you could change today?

It could be spending a bit more time in the wonderful word of God - take another 10 minutes. It could be taking that course you've been putting off - inquire into it, how much, how long?

It could be saying I love you more - love never fails! (I Corinthians 13)

It could be mending that friendship - go for coffee.

It could be going on that missionary trip - start setting money aside, start learning that language.

It could be starting that business - talk to someone else about it that is successful.

Make a step towards it. (make sure it is a realistic and attainable change/step.)

4. Do it - don't just think about it, do it! Be diligent and you will see change, you really will!

Sometimes just a little change makes a huge difference.

5. Set another step once you see some success and you will see even more things change. Pretty soon your car (life) will be back up on the road, ready to go with more energy and vision.

Deuteronomy 30:14 "But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your mind and in your heart, so that you can do it!"

You can do it - Go Forward!
