Don't Quit!

We grew up on the farm riding horses and we rode them from a young age.

All of my siblings and I broke (with dads help. of course) our own horses.

It was exciting and deliciously scary, getting on the horse, then holding on!

Usually we went very slowly, getting them used to the bridle, then having someone on their back, then the blanket, then the saddle, then getting up on the saddle...

While they were getting used to someone being on their backs, they would often 'spook' and down on the ground you could go.

Even times after our horses were trained they could shy at something and again, down you could go if not ready for it!

There were a few times when I suddenly found myself on the ground and my horse, Chico, looking down at me like, 'what are you doing there?'

Every time we were either bucked off or fell off, dad would say, 'you better get back on that horse...' In other words, don't quit, don't give up.

How many times have you or I said, "That's it...I quit.!" meaning enough is enough or no more of that, or I'm not doing this any more!

Well, it depends on what you're talking about if that's a good thing or not! If we are saying 'that's enough', over something that should stop, then that's a good thing.

But if you are saying 'I quit' over something that is good, (like getting bucked off a horse you are trying to train) and saying it's just too hard, you're just worn out - then that's the time to not quit. Maybe you just need to adjust some things.

Remember that God is always for us. He is the One Who wants to give us success.

Joshua 1:8 NKJV says, "This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth but you shall mediate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success."

Proverbs 10:22 NKJV says, "The blessing of the Lord makes one rich and He adds no sorrow with it.

That is so wonderful. God is not the author of sorrow or trouble in our lives.

He always wants to do us good! The Holy Spirit will help us every moment of our lives if we will let Him, to give us the strength to keep going and follow through on what we need to do and what He has called us to do. He will show us if we need to change some things or adjust how we are doing a certain task, but He always leads us forward and always lead us into peace and in wisdom.

In John 10:10 NKJV Jesus said, "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."

Amp. "...I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows)."

So when circumstances and/or the enemy says to quit, give up, it's not worth it... recognize where that is coming from. That despair and heaviness is from the enemy. And he is a defeated enemy. All he can get you to do is believe a lie, otherwise he has no power. So don't believe his lies.

God's word, the Holy Bible is what is true.

If you know God's word, you will know what the Truth really is!

God says, that He came to give us abundant life, a winning life!

God says that He made you more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37), and that greater is He that is in us than He that is in the world. (I John 4:4)

Don't quit. Get up, dust yourself off and get back on that horse!
